How to turn 24 leave days into 54 this year in 2024
Want to maximise your holidays in 2024? Here’s how to turn 24 days of annual leave into 54 days off, just by planning around public holidays.
This year, you can actually double your annual leave, turning 24 days into a whopping 54 days off.
All you need to do is be strategic about when you take leave days, and you can turn two weeks (or so) of annual leave into well over a month off, over the course of the year. WE’VE MAPPED IT OUT FOR YOU SO Here’s how maximise your paid time off in 2024.
Step 1 – Australia Day
Secure time off from the 20th to the 28th January 2024. Book in 4 days annual leave to unlock 9 days off;
Annual leave days Monday to Thursday 22nd to the 25th, and a Public Holiday Friday 26th January. with the weekends either side, you’ll have 9 days off in total!
Step 2 – Easter Holidays
Secure time off from the 23rd March to the 7th April. Book in 8 days annual leave to unlock 16 days off;
Annual leave days are 25th to the 28th March and the 2nd to 5th April , with 2x Public Holidays over Easter in March this year and the weekends either side, you’ll have 16 days off in total!
Step 3. ANZAC Day
Secure time off from the 25th April to the 28th April. Book in just 1 day annual leave to unlock 4 days off;
Annual leave day is for the Friday 26th April with the Public Holiday falling on Thursday 25th April and the weekend, you’ll have 4 days off in total!
Step 4. The Kings Birthday: June
Secure time off from the 8th to the 16th June 2024. Book in 4 days annual leave to unlock 9 days off;
Annual leave days are Tuesday 11th June to Friday 14th June with the Public Holiday falling on Monday 10th June and the weekends either side, you’ll have 9 days off in total!
Step 5. The Best For Last: Christmas Holidays
Secure time off from the 21st December 2024 to 5th January 2025. Book in 7 days annual leave to unlock 16 days off;
Annual leave days 23,24,27, 30 and 31 Dec 2024. with the 3x Public Holidays falling on 25,26 December 2024 and 1st January 2025 and the weekends either side, you’ll have 16 days off in total!
